We are in total support of the new law in Arizona. My response to unlawful assemby by illegals would be to send INS/Homeland Security buses into the protest areas across the Nation. I would immediately deport anyone who did not present US citizenship or legal immigrant identification.

Immigration and the Border
Illegals Protest in US Cities
This past month we have seen major changes in Immigration Law in the US. Arizona's landmark legislation was written as a response to the growing threat to security in that state. Phoenix is the second largest capital of kidnapping in the World! Drug cartels and illegal coyotes are holding illegal immigrants hostage in suburban tract homes. They have been known to cut off their fingers and send them to family members for ransom. The law in Arizona was recently modified by the Governor, Jan Brewer, to allow police to request proof of citizenship when pursuing a crime. This has been met with stiff opposition from the left and illegals are planning protests in 80 cities across America. They claim that the law involves racial profiling. The President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, has also made a statement condemning the law. The reaction of the President of Mexico would be irrelevant to this situation. In fact, any action against our US sovereignty by Mexico would be tantamount to a declaration of War and I would cease trade with that country immediately. As commander and chief of the US, I would initiate a 6 month lockdown on our border. I would never authorize the construction of the Trans Texas corridor which is part of efforts to create a North American Union. Ironically, President Calderon is not in favor of a NAU either. All of this could be avoided if He agrees to honor our US Soveriegnty and stand down as we deport illegals that violate our laws.
1000 Mile Fence
At America's Third Party, we are in total support of the new law in Arizona. It was clearly needed since the Obama Administration had down nothing to mitigate crimes by illegals in the Southwest. For the tenure of his Presidency, Obama has done nothing to curtail illegal entry into the country. The prosecution of illegals has been nonexistent. If I were your President, this is how I would handle the situation...The initial phase of interdiction of illegal entry would be to construct a 1,000 mile fence along the border with Mexico. There is a current plan to make a 600 mile fence, but it is not complete and has many openings in which illegals can enter. There are places that are so wide open that pregnant women literally wait to enter when their water breaks, and then scamper to a clinic in the US a few hundred feet away to give birth to their baby. The baby is then automatically a US citizen based on an arcane interpretation of the 14th Amendment. They call these children "Anchor Babies". This anchor automatically gives the illegal alien Mother section 8 housing, food stamps and welfare assistance. This is truly insane, in that US citizens are still on waiting lists for section 8 housing! The fence will not only deter this crime, but will guarantee that there will not be a sudden rush through our border of illegals in the event of a disaster. Our Nation's population is growing at 5% - this can be attributed entirely to the growth of the illegal alien population. Rough estimates place the population of illegals in the US as between 10-14 million. Some estimates place it even higher! So, the need for a fence is obvious. We do not want to harm anyone trying to enter through this fence. There will multi-lingual signs declaring that the fence is dangerous and electrified! The fence will be constructed from materials we currently have. FEMA camps around the US will have perimeter fencing removed, rolled up and transported to the Southern Border. The fence will be double wide and have a road running down the middle where automated vehicles will patrol using tunnel detection systems along the way. There will be look-out posts every mile with advanced motion detection devices in place. The workers that will place this fence in position will be illegal aliens that are currently in our prison system. We have 400,000 illegal aliens in our prison system, costing taxpayers $20 Billion annually! We will offer them $1/day to work at the border in 100 day shifts. At the end of this work detail they will have $100 in cash, clothes and basic supplies in a travel bag, as they are deported. This will be a win-win for both the prisoners who qualify and the U.S. taxpayer. They get their freedom and we get our country back!
Fast Track Naturalization
Our Nation has a solid commitment to encourage "legal" immigration. Unfortunately, there has been a very long waiting list and a financial requirement of $25,000 in a savings account, in order to qualify for "legal" entry. I would eliminate that requirement. Working with Congress, I would develop a program that would Fast Track Naturalization. Non criminal illegals that are currently in the US would be given a 6 month Student Visa to get an education in English, US History and Government. The 6 question Citizenship test would be administered on a daily basis, not on a monthly basis as it is now. This process would have funding to educate people at no charge in Night classes around the Country. There would be funding for more teachers to educate and administer the tests. Our goal is not to alienate the illegal alien population, but rather integrate them into our society without offering them "amnesty". At ATP, we believe that offering illegals amnesty sends the wrong message to the World. It encourages illegal entry. This idea of Fast Track Naturalization works to create a barrier, yet alleviates the stressors of immigration placed on so many immigrants entering our Nation. The student Visas will be authorized with an RFID chip inside the card. When it expires, there will be a grace period before we begin the process of deportation. Deportation will be relatively non invasive. We will start by prosecuting employers of illegals with felony charges. This was tried in Oklahoma 4 years ago and proved to be very effective. Over 200,000 illegals left cities like Tulsa and Oklahoma City on their own accord. The National Laws against illegals will then be enforced and we will see fewer deportees returning to the US since there will be a 1000 mile fence along the border by that time.
National Guard Rotation at the Border
At ATP we have been very forthright about getting our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We believe that the National Guard would better serve our Nation by defending our own borders. This seems justified. It was never the purpose of the National Guard to fight foreign Wars. This was a complete mistake by the Bush Administration. And the mistake is ramified by the Obama Administration. Some of our National Guards have already served 6 Tours of duty overseas! We believe that our reliance on High Tech Weaponry will free us of our physical responsibilities in these regions. The work of containment in Iraq and Afghanistan can go on under the auspices of a New Strategy. Our concept of assisting the Iraqi and Afghan Army in these regions is based on the theory that "Weapons Free Safe Zones" can be constructed outside major Cities. These will be based on renewable energy systems; protecting large agricultural areas where people can live peacefully. No one will be forced to live there. Everything will be voluntary. They will have prefabricated housing, electric vehicles made of plastic and a fresh water supply. The abilities of lower cost unmanned vehicles and UAVs to patrol the perimeter will be part of this plan. Anyone entering a Safe Zone will be checked for weapons and explosives using advanced spectroscopic analysis devices. Everyone seeking safe haven there will be given Biometric thermographic analysis to determine if they are friend or foe. The likelihood of a terrorist act will b reduced to zero. Certain Army personnel will be positioned in Iraq and Afghanistan to maintain our infrastructure there. But the National Guards returning home will be given a vacation and then assigned to the Borders. We will rotate these Men and Women every few months to prevent corruption. Temporary housing will be available; so, their families can join them in this duty. The existng Border Patrol will be placed inland to assist in interdiction in areas where Drug Cartels have gained a stronghold in the US. These Border Patrol agents will be given more and improved weapons to deal with internal security.
