Bomb Shelters

Wherever large numbers of people reside, there should be underground facilities that are resistant to nuclear, biological and chemical attacks. The same Federal tax dollars that are spent on road work can be redirected to a full scale development of these new underground bomb shelters.
In every major city, contractors can team up to develop a Civil Defense system using existing Road Worker staffing. These locations will be configured as "Hamlets", equally distributed among the population throughout the Nation. Each "Hamlet" will offer its potential residents a fully functional and autonomous system to sustain itself. As time progresses, their defenses and sustainability will be enhanced by technological advances from the Federal Government. We need to prepare the country in advance of any potential terrorist threat. Building bomb shelters that are resistant to nuclear, biological and chemical attacks has the potential to save lives in the future.
